History

Incasso LLP, based in Leeds,  is the specialist debt recovery and credit management division of Cobbetts LLP.  Cobbetts LLP was originally established in the 1800’s in Manchester. Today it is a well established commercial law firm with 146 partners and over 800 staff, operating from offices in Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and London. In 2002, Cobbetts LLP merged with the Leeds based Read Hind Stewart, which today is known as Incasso LLP. Although wholly owned by Cobbetts LLP, Incasso LLP now has over 70 employees and has quickly established itself as a market leader in debt recovery.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Our CSR Strategy recognises our social and environmental responsibility to the wider community; locally, regionally, nationally and globally.

The firm’s CSR strategy has three principle strands:

  • Charity of the Year sponsorship - Incasso's Charity of the Year programme involves working with a charity for a one-year period, with the ability to extend the relationship to two years after the first year.  This is important in building relationships with the communities in which the firm operates, not only involving financial donations but also the giving of our time and expertise.  Following consultation with staff and then a staff vote, we sponsor a single national charity so as to focus rather than dilute our efforts. The firm's partners match any money raised by staff up to a capped amount. Click here to find out more about our Charity of the Year.
  • Community support - linking up with charities and charity liaison bodies, such as Business in the Community, which are local to our offices. The giving of our time and expertise in this way is beneficial both for the personal development of the staff who get involved and the communities within which we work and live.
  • Ethical purchasing and consumption of goods and services – encouraging ethical principles and making informed decisions on the purchasing of goods and services across the firm, considering where possible the ethical policies of suppliers alongside cost.  In addition we will encourage a more environmentally aware attitude to as many aspects of the firm’s consumption of goods and services purchased.
